Kathmandu: The weather has turned cloudy throughout the country today.

The Kathmandu Valley also has an overcast sky. Due to the partial influence of the westerly wind and the westerly low pressure system in the country, the weather has become cloudy.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there will be moderate rainfall in some places in the afternoon.

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari said the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

According to him, the cloudy weather started in western Nepal last evening and spread to most of the areas today.

Light rain is taking place at a few places in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, according to a bulletin issued by the Division this morning.

Light snowfall is taking place at a few places of the high hilly and mountainous region of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

There will be light to moderate snowfall at a few places of the Sudurpashchim, Karnali and Koshi provinces and at one or two places of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

There is also a chance of foggy weather at a few places in Terai and Kathmandu Valley in the morning.

The Division has urged the general public to take necessary precautions in view of the changes in weather condition.
