PM Oli’s China visit diplomatic failure, says National Unity Campaign

Kathmandu: National Unity Campaign has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli failed to safeguard national interests during his recently concluded visit to China. Binaya Yadav, the president of the Campaign, has criticized the BRI deal signed between Nepal and China saying that it ‘has heightened the possibility of Nepal falling into debt trap.’  According to him, there should have been adequate discussions in parliament before Nepal signed the document with China.

In the statement issued on Saturday, Yadav has said that PM’s visit failed to address two key issues—related to border and Pokhara International Airport.  PM should have raised the issue of converting loans of Pokhara airport into grant during the visit but he failed to do so, Yadav has said.
