Nepal suffers defeat against UAE in World Cup football qualifiers

Kathmandu: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) secured an emphatic win in the second-round match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers on Thursday.

UAE defeated Nepal 4-0 in the match held at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia. UAE took a two-goal lead in the first half and scored two more goals in the second half.

Harib Abdallah Almusherakh scored two goals for UAE, while Ali Saleh and Hazem Mohammad each scored one goal.

With this win, UAE is at the top of Group H with 15 points from five wins. Nepal is without points after losing all five matches. Nepal will play its last match against Yemen on June 11.
