Multiple landslides obstruct different highways in Sudurpaschim Province

Sudurpaschim: Different highways of hilly areas in Sudurpaschim Province have been obstructed due to landslide following incessant rainfall.

Landslides occurred at different places have obstructed Dhangadhi-Dadeldhura (Bhimdutta), Dadeldhura-Dipayal (KI Sing), Khodpe-Bajhang (Jaya Prithivi) highways and Budar-Jogbudha section. 

Similarly, vehicular movement along Jorayal road and Sahajpur-BP Nagar road in Doti has also been disrupted due to landslide.  

Vehicles heading towards their destinations have been stranded along the highways. According to Nepal Police Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Attariya, Kailali, landslides occurred at different highways have obstructed vehicular movement from Thursday night. 

Landslides have occured at six to seven places of Bhimdutta highway leading to obstruct vehicular movement. Bhimdutta highway connects seven districts of hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province.

Initiative was underway to resume highway by removing landslide debris along the Bhimdutta highway, said Sub-Inspector, Ganga Dutta Bhatta. 

Similarly, movement along Doke bazaar to Belauri road section has been disrupted after the incessant rainfall inundated the road section. 

Meanwhile, Karnali highway obstructed for the past two day due to landslide has resumed from today. 

The vehicular movement along the highway resumed after removing landslides occurred at Gaganekhola, and Hulma of Subhakalika rural municipality-1 in Kalikot district on Wednesday, said acting Chief of Road Division Office, Jumla, Chetan Kumar Mandal.
