Myagdi: The Majhibasti-Khaniyaghat section of Maldhunga-Berni road has been blacktopped.

The section has been blacktopped through the national pride, Kaligandaki Corridor, Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project.

Two kilometers from Majhibasti of Kushma Municipality-1 to Khaniyaghat of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 has been blacktopped.

Sub-engineer of the project, Sohanjung Karki informed that the contract of Rs 528.6 million was awarded to the contractors to make the 13-kilometer-long Beni-Maldhunga road 11 meters wide with blacktopping and sloping.

Road expansion, sub base, base and grading are also being carried out in another eight kilometers of the road.

Meanwhile, the Bokse-Sigana road is also being blacktopped, according to the news carried by RSS representatives from Galkot of Baglung.

Out of the 10-km road, work has started from Bokse to blacktop six kilometers in the first phase.

Work is underway with the target to complete blacktopping in six places by mid-April.

The contract for blacktopping 10 km has been signed at a cost of Rs 293.78 million.
