32 kgs of Yarsagumba exported from Manang

Manang: A total of 32.5 kgs of Yarsagumba has been exported from lower Manang this season. With this, the collection of Yarsagumba or Cordyceps sinensis has been completed in the lower belt of Manang. 

Revenue worth Rs 1.65 million was collected from the Yarsagumba export, according to Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, the head of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) unit in Manang. A fee of Rs 51,000 per kg has been charged for the export of Yarsa. 

Around 200 people had acquired a permit to collect Yarsagumba from the Namke area of the district. 

According to Bhujel, Namke in Manang is the first destination for collecting Yarsa. Both locals and people from outside districts were allowed to collect Yarsagumba.

A fee of Rs 35,000 per person was charged to obtain a permit for Yarsagumba collection.
