50th Convocation Day:14,308 students graduate from TU

Kathmandu: Fourteen thousand three hundred and eight students of the Tribhuvan University have been graduated in the 50th Convocation Day today.

At a programme organized at Tripureshwor-based Dasharath Stadium, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli presented certificate to students, who achieved highest marks and those who completed their doctoral studies.

According to Examination Controller of the TU, Pushpa Raj Joshi, a total of 9,068 undergraduate students, 5,055 post graduate students, 63 MPhil students and 122 PhD scholars were graduated this year. On the occasion, topper of different levels and subjects in the examination conducted by TU were awarded with different medals.

This year’s Tribhuvan University Professors’ Association Martyr Associate Professor Hari Raj Adhikari Gold Medal was conferred on Hira Shrestha of Management Faculty while Shree Indra Bhakta Gold Medal on Sudha Kafle of School of Management.

Similarly, Amrit Medal was presented to Sushil Pokharel of Central Department of Chemistry, Madan Bidya Environmental Science Award to Rikita Bhandari of Central Department of Environmental Science, Nepal Bank Limited Sardar Gunjaman Singh Gold Medal and Ram Krishna Nuchchhe Pradhan Award to Rebika Bhandari of Kathmandu Model College.

Likewise, Sudikshya Ghimire of Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus received Narendramani Acharya Dixit Medal and Dr Mohan Prasad Lakhe Gold Medal, Sanjeev Kumar Singh of Central Department of Library and Information Science was awarded from Shanti-Narayan Mishra Medal, Prateek Raj Joshi of Department of International Relations and Diplomacy from Dubasu Chhetri Gold Medal, Shreena Chhetri of Central Department of Botany from Emirates Prof Dr Ram Prasad Chaudhary Gold Medal and Chetana Kunwar of Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication from Narayan Shanti Mishra Medal.

Shrijjya Kafle, student of Central Department of Economics, received Tarpad Chaudhary Medal, Khagendra Man Singh Pradhan Medal and Chandra Raj Dhungel Memorial Award, and Sita Kumari Shrestha of Central Department of Education got Shilpa Bista Academic Excellence Award.
